RAWALPINDI: The 13th PCOMS was held as a joint activity of the Pakistan Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (PAOMS) and Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry (AFID) at AFID, Rawalpindi. Besides the main conference events, 9 pre and post-conference workshops were also held at different institutional partners.
These workshops were titled:
1. Basic Dental Implantology at Islamabad Medical & Dental College, Islamabad
2. Hands-on workshop on Zygomatic implants with live surgery at Quaid e Azam International Hospital, Islamabad
3. Hands-on workshop on cleft lip surgical repair and Nasoalveolar moulding in cleft babies at Institute of Dental Sciences, Hitec-IMS- Taxila
4. AOCMF advanced orthognathic seminar at Foundation University College of Dentistry, Islamabad
5. Non surgical facial rejuvenation at AFID, Rawalpindi
6. Trigeminal nerve injuries: Nerve repair workshop at School of Dentistry, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad
7. Live surgery on Microvascular reconstruction at AFID, Rawalpindi
8. Advanced dental implantology at AFID, Rawalpindi
9. Clearpath clear aligners at AFID, Rawalpindi

Furthermore, 24 national speakers also spoke on various topics.
The event had partnerships from local institutions, the scientific program was endorsed by IAOMS and CPD credit hours were awarded by the partnering university, National University of Medical Sciences.
The President PAOMS, Prof Riaz A Warraich invited Dr Stefano Fusetti to deliver his Presidential lecture in the inaugural ceremony. After the official opening, a plenary session was conducted which had diverse presentations from training and standards in OMFS, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, oral oncology and maxillofacial reconstruction. Following this, there were 5 dedicated half-day sessions on Dentoalveolar surgery/Dental Implants, Facial trauma, Orthognathic/cleft/TMJ, Pathology/salivary glands/infections, and Oncology/Reconstruction.
NextGen sessions oral and poster for postgraduate trainees were conducted which were judged by a team of three invited faculty each. There were 21 NextGen oral presentations and 55 NextGen poster submissions. Prizes were awarded for the first, second and third position holders.

There was a fellowship award ceremony for PAOMS members with more than ten years of good standing, and an honorary fellowship award ceremony in which visiting speakers were awarded PAOMS fellowship.
On the second day of the conference, a Gala night followed by a music concert was held. More than 500 delegates participated in the conference.
