PMC fixes medical, dental colleges tuition fees, action against excess charge

ISLAMABAD: The annual tuition fee of medical colleges should not exceed Rs 1,263,251,  according to the recent notification of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

PMC has recently announced the Fee Regulations for the 2022 session. It says the maximum annual tuition fee of Grade B and Grade C medical colleges should be Rs 1,263,251 and Rs 1,014,828. Whereas that of Grade B and Grade C dental colleges should be Rs. 1,239,406 and Rs. 962,685.

Colleges may charge only a one-time admission fee from the student, which should not be more than two per cent of the annual tuition fee.

The notification also reads that students hold the right to pay the tuition fee quarterly, six-monthly, or annual. Moreover, a minimum 4 per cent and 2 per cent discount should be granted if a student pays the college on an annual and six-monthly basis respectively in advance, it states.

PMC has warned students to pay any amount above the fees as notified, and any demand of excess amount should be reported to PMC.
