KARACHI: The Sindh Government (SG) has recently decided to start COVID-19 vaccination in all public and private sector schools and colleges of Sindh from Sep 6.
Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Minister of Health, Sindh and Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Education Minister of Education, Sindh has taken this decision at a joint meeting with other members of the health and education department.
The meeting decided that students enrolled in class IX to class XII would be inoculated against coronavirus. The children would be vaccinated with the consent of their parents. In the first phase, the vaccination process would be carried out at the district level and later, they would expand it to the sub-district level.
The education minister sought complete cooperation from the education department over the vaccination process and said inoculation against Covid-19 was important for the smooth running of the education system and children`s safety.
