LAHORE: Dr. Shahid Siddique, owner of a prominent private hospital and a local leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was tragically shot and killed outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore. The attack occurred shortly after Friday prayers when unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle fired four bullets at him.
The police have recovered Dr. Siddique's body and have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are exploring various angles, including the possibility of a targeted killing. Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Usman Anwar, has ordered immediate action to apprehend the assailant(s). He has directed that all available resources, including footage from Safe City cameras, be utilized to ensure a swift resolution of the case.
The IGP has also requested a detailed report from the DIG Operations on the matter, emphasizing that every effort should be made to bring those responsible to justice and support the victim’s family during this difficult time.
