KARACHI- The Certificate Program on Fixed Orthodontics held recently at the Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences concluded on 23rd Feb. Vice-Principal & Head of Dental Section Prof HR Sukhia as Program Director and Assistant Professor & Head of Orthodontics Dr Rashna H Sukhia as Course Coordinator conducted the program which covered lecture sessions and hands-on workshop. The course also included basic and advanced wire-bending, arch coordination, bracket bonding and molar bonding, wire placement & activation, and cephalometric analysis. Also touched upon, during the session, were subject of proper diagnosis, treatment planning and lectures on orthodontic retention, accompanied with demonstration of orthodontic record keeping and photography technique. Emphasis was laid on simple bio-mechanics for proper case finishing. This time around only 12 participants were enrolled so as to concentrate fully on their improvement and teaching. Lastly certificates were distributed amongst the attendants.-P
