PM for improving senior citizens’ life quality

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for senior citizens by ensuring access to healthcare, social services, and opportunities for active participation in the community.

In his message on International Day of Older Persons, the PM pledged to promote an inclusive society that honours and supports its elderly population.

This year’s theme, "Aging with Dignity: The Importance of Strengthening Care and Support Systems for Older Persons Worldwide," highlights the collective responsibility to protect the rights and well-being of older individuals.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings to our senior citizens and acknowledge their invaluable contributions to our society. They are the custodians of our history, bearers of wisdom, and anchors of our families,” reads the PM’s message.

He further emphasised the role older generations play in guiding the youth with their wisdom and experiences, for creating a more resilient, tolerant, and compassionate society.

The PM underscored the government’s vision to empower senior citizens, ensuring they feel respected, their voices heard, and that they continue to share their valuable insights.

“Let us work together to build a tolerant society where every citizen is respected, and our elderly receive the care and recognition they deserve,” he concluded.
