RAWALPINDI: District Health Authority has ordered the barbershops and beauty salons' owners to get their businesses registered with the authority by Dec 31 to control the spread of hepatitis.
Dr Waqar Ahmed, the health authority spokesperson, said that Punjab's primary and secondary health department made hepatitis-free certificates mandatory for people related to these businesses.
The health authority had begun registration which was free-of-cost for these businesses, Dr Waqar said. After inspecting salons and shops, he further added that they would undergo permanent registration if their staff's hepatitis tests came out negative.
Dr Waqar urged the owners to enrol their shops and salons with the health authority as soon as possible. Otherwise, after Jan 1, 2022, the authority would cease their businesses, he added.
