RAWALPINDI: The Department of Oral Medicine at Margalla Institute of Health Sciences

(MIHS) organised a poster competition for third year BDS on 31st of October 2022.

 

Dr Kanwal Sohail, Head of Department and Dr Ruhamaa Arshad planned the activity for the

students as a continuum of their academic progress and learning. Such activities are part

and parcel of the learning curve of the students.

Different Oral Medicine topics were allocated to the 3 rd year BDS. Professor Dr Lubna Pasha, Head of Department of Operative

Dentistry, Dr Sidra Azeem Malik, Head of Department of Periodontology at MIHS were

invited to judge the event. Principal Professor Dr Amjad Mahmood and Vice Principal

Professor Dr Shakir Khan also acknowledged the event and encouraged the students for

future academic projects. Their auspicious care and support have made the event possible.

third year students Talal Sharjeel, Rushail Ahmed, Ummey Kalsoom, Sara Ishaq, Shoaib Subhan ul Din, Zainab Khan, Zara Raja, Zofishan Mahfooz, Umaima Ramzan, Zahra Ayaz and Uzair.

Hussain stood first in the competition. Third year student Ahmed Mueed also took part in the

organising committee enhancing his organisational skills.

Poster competition brings out the creativity in the students as well as play a role in developing

leadership qualities and teamwork approach. This also enhance the self-directed learning of

the students enabling them to become lifelong learners. Margalla Institute of Health

Sciences emphasize on bringing out the academic qualities and personal grooming of the

students to enable them to thrive for a better future. Progressing in their careers students

are always encouraged to broaden their horizon and come out of their comfort zone. Such

recreational academic activities also boost up the moral of students. All the  third year Students

at MIHS also enjoyed the event with their competitive spirit.
