LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) is currently reviewing petitions challenging the central admission policy implemented by private medical colleges. The honourable LHC Justice Ali Baqar Najfi presided over the proceedings.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) presented its case, asserting the legality of the centralized admission policy. The court has reserved its judgment following comprehensive arguments presented by all parties involved.
In a separate development, authorities responsible for education in Punjab have introduced changes to the admission policy for government medical and dental colleges. Under the revised guidelines, individuals who have memorized the Holy Quran, commonly referred to as "huffaz," will no longer receive additional marks when applying for admission to government medical and dental colleges after completing their matriculation.
