LAHORE: Prof Dr Arham Nawaz Chohan has been sworn in as the president-elect of the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) Central Council.
The swearing-in ceremony, conducted by the outgoing senior vice president, Dr Anwar Saeed, marked the beginning of a new era in PDA's leadership.
The event, held in Lahore, was attended by esteemed figures from the dental and medical fields, underscoring the significance of this transition. Those who attended the ceremony included Prof Muhammad Saeed, Prof Dr Ayyaz Ali Khan, former PDA president Prof Dr Waheed Ul Hameed, Lahore PDA President Dr Hafiz Shaker, and the presidents of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) chapters in Gujranwala and Lahore.
Prof Arham Chohan, a highly respected personality in the dental profession, has extensive experience and an outstanding academic background. He obtained his Bachelor of Dentistry (BDS) from de'Montmorency College of Dentistry in Lahore and currently serves as a professor and Head of Paediatric Dentistry at the Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College.
In addition to his BDS degree, Prof Chohan earned a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) in Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry from The Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK, in 1990.
Throughout his career, Prof Chohan has previously served as the vice president of PDA Punjab in 2016. His vision for the future of dentistry in Pakistan is crystal clear, as he shared during an exclusive interview with Dental News.
In his conversation with Dental News, Dr Chohan highlighted the pressing challenges faced by the dental community today, including issues related to job opportunities, career advancement, and opportunities for studying abroad. He firmly believes that these challenges require immediate attention and resolution.
