KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) marked Pakistan's Independence Day with great fervor by organizing different events, featuring national songs, speeches and a play to infuse patriotism in students.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Naheed Najmi, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran.
Students sang the national anthem before a flag-raising ceremony, inspiring a profound sense of unity. They also sang patriotic songs, besides performing a play to stress the historical significance of Pakistan's independence.
In their speeches, LCMD Principal Prof. Dr. Rashid Naseem, and Chairman Senator Mr. Amir Waliuddin Chisti, underscored the role of healthcare in nation-building and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to excellence.
Special awards were presented to honour the best faculty and best department for MBBS and BDS, recognising outstanding contributions within the college.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and a cake-cutting ceremony.
