Pakistan Medical Association circulated a message via SMS in Punjab stating
Dear Colleague, Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench has stayed/postponed the election of PMDC on 5 Dec. 2015 due to Local Govt. Elections and gross irregularities in the voter list. Stay united for the independent and transparent PMDC PMA, Punjab. The court further ordered that the elections to be held on the 5th of December 2015 shall be stayed until further notice, while the next date set for hearing on the petition has been set on the 11th of December 2015. The court commented
a large number of voters would be deprived of casting their votes, due to which the election on the date fixed would be a futile exercise. The election to take place in the rest of Pakistan will take place as scheduled.
