KARACHI - Health Department Sindh has once again started favoritism and politically motivated postings, as a woman pharmacist has been appointed on the post of drug inspector in Hyderabad, it was learned recently.
Sources in the Sindh Health Department on condition of anonymity said; Health department started favoritism and nepotism on recommendations from influential politicians, despite court restrictions. In a recent development, an influential lady working on the post of Deputy Director Pharmacy Services in Sindh - Sehar Afshen has been appointed as a Drug Inspector in Hyderabad. A notification of her appointment was also issued.
Sources said; The woman was removed earlier from the post of Divisional Drug Inspector Hyderabad in the light of the apex court orders. She was sent back to her original post as Deputy Director Pharmacy Services in Sindh. The senior drug inspectors are seriously considering, approaching the court against the appointment of Pharmacist - Sehar Afshen on the post of Drug Inspector Hyderabad.
Drug Inspector Hyderabad, Saher Afshen, when contacted, said some drug inspectors were creating confusion against her appointment. She said; A person having degree of Pharmacy can become a drug analyst and drug inspector. Provincial Health Secretary Sindh - Alamuddin Bullo was not available for comment.
