World Orthodontic Day was organized at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) Defence Campus by HOD of Orthodontics Department Prof. Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan and Prof Dr Hasnain Sakrani. The agenda was to discuss the treatment plans of untreated cases with orthodontic specialists from different colleges/universities, and to facilitate orthodontic trainees in their clinical work. Honourable Orthodontic HODs from different colleges participated in setting treatment plans for untreated cases; eminent dental surgeons gave feedback covering the surgical aspect of treatment. Participants from Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, Karachi Medical and Dental College, Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences (JSMU), Aga Khan University Hospital, Dow University of Health Sciences, Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry, and Alvi Dental Clinic attended the event.
All participants discussed various treatment options for every case presented.
The event commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. After a brief introduction by Prof Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, the presenters came up with untreated cases; various questions were raised by orthodontic trainees and orthodontists, with a treatment plan suggested for each case in the end. Lastly, Prof. Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan distributed certificates among all the participants and gave vote of thanks to the guests, dental faculty and trainees for being part of the event.
