KARACHI: Annual Student Week at the Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) kicked off with a series of sports competitions, including table tennis, badminton, throwball, and cricket, with participation from BDS students across all academic years.
The event also witnessed the inauguration of the college’s outdoor sports arena for dental students.
The opening ceremony was attended by faculty, students, and administrative staff, besides Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hussain Mehdi, Principal of the Medical College Prof Ambreen Usmani, Principal of the Dental College Prof Dr M. Junaid Lakhani, and others.
JMDC Executive Director Dr Adnan Sohail, alongside Dr Fadieleh Sohail, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the arena gates.
Later in the week, a literary debate competition was organised, with prizes distributed in both English and Urdu categories, as judged by an esteemed panel.
The event provided a much-needed break from hectic academic schedules and was thoroughly enjoyed by students and faculty alike.
