Karachi: The election of general and public faculty seats for Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) was held on 5 December 2015 throughout the Sindh province. As per unofficial results of public faculty seat, Dr Nusrat Shah of Civil Hospital Karachi got 139 votes, Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sheikh of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) obtained 129, while Dr Nasir Khan of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital secured 150 votes . Results for general seat Dr Attur Rehman of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) has got 409 votes while Dr Jamal Shaikh of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital obtained 444 votes. On the other hand, candidate for dental private practitioner Dr Feroz Jehangir was elected unopposed. Sources said out of total 34,000 registered voters only 853 cast their votes for general seat. It was pertinent to mention here that PMDC election in Punjab had been postponed in due to local bodies election.
