1st Symposium on Advanced Clinical Skills at LMDC
LAHORE: The 1st symposium on Advanced Clinical Skills in Dentistry, organized by College of Dentistry Lahore Medical and Dental College, witnessed an amalgamation of peerless speakers who enlightened the attendees with their knowledge and presented novel topics. The theme of the symposium was “Master Clinical Success – Think out of the Box”.
The symposium was formally inaugurated by the Patron-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Aqib Sohail, renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Principal College of Dentistry, LMDC. He conveyed a warm gratitude to all the honorable guests and speakers of the event. Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal was the Chief Guest of the event.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal appreciated the professional commitment of the dental faculty and congratulated the organizers of the Symposium for arranging such a beneficial event. Prof. Dr. Nazia Yazdanie was the Session Chair Prosthodontics, Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Warraich was the Session Chair Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousaf was the Session Chair Operative Dentistry, while Prof. Dr. Abida Ijaz was the Session Chair Orthodontics. Senior faculty members from all the specialties graced the event including Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain, Prof. Dr. Mughees Baig, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Shah, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim Saeed, Prof. Dr. Samir Qazi and Prof. Dr. Abdul Moeed Zaigham.
Eminent keynote speakers from various reputed universities and dental practices made their resplendent presence and addressed the gathering.The speakers presented the latest information, best practices and advanced techniques being used in dentistry.They presented their work in various specialties of dentistry.
Prof. Dr. Mahmood Haider presented on Pediatric Oral Cancer, Prof. Dr. NaziaYazdanie spoke on Full Mouth Rehabilitation of Edentulous patients with Implant Supported Prosthesis, Prof. Dr. Abid Ashar presented the Management of Facial Pain, whereas Prof. Dr. Iffat Batool’s lecture was on Orthognathic Surgery.
Brig. Dr. Syed Gulzar Bukhari’s talk focused on Maxillofacial Osteodistraction, Dr. Noeen Arshad discussed Pediatric Rehabilitation under General Anesthesia – the third dimension, and Dr. Arham Nawaz Chohan’s topic was Dental Trauma: Management options in Immature Young Permanent Teeth. Dr. Nasir Saleem’s presentation was called Restoring the Restorable – Endodontically Treated Teeth, while Dr. Salman Ashraf spoke on Dental Management of Cancer Patients, and Dr. Rubab Sherazi discussed Regenerative Endodontics.
The Advanced Clinical Skills symposium concluded with an outstanding participation of more than 300 Dental Specialists, General Dental Practitioners, Post graduate residents, house officers & students.A vote of thanks was issued by Dr. Moeen ud Din Ahmad, Chairperson Organizing Committee. He appreciated the organizers for their efforts to make this event successful.
The attendees of symposium received 4 CE credit points approved by UHS. The Symposium provided a great platform for dental professionals and industry experts of the region to update their knowledge.
