MMDC holds Faculty Development Workshop on Item Writing

MIRPURKHAS, SINDH: Mohammad Medical & Dental College (MMDC), Mirpurkhas, hosted a Faculty Development Workshop on Item Writing recently. The workshop, organized under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad, Director of the Institute of Health Professionals Education, aimed to enhance faculty expertise in crafting high-quality assessment tools.
The interactive workshop, co-facilitated by Dr. Kiran Fatima, provided participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills required to develop robust test items aligned with modern educational standards. It was tailored to address common flaws in item writing and foster the application of Bloom’s Taxonomy for creating effective assessments.
Faculty members across all levels actively engaged in the training. Pre-reading materials were shared with registered participants beforehand, enabling them to contribute meaningfully during the sessions. Participants were guided to design test items, which were later reviewed and refined in group discussions. The collaborative atmosphere ensured an equal exchange of ideas and expertise among the attendees.
