ISLAMABAD – The Community Dentistry Department of HBS Medical & Dental College successfully organized and carried out a community outreach program in different schools of Islamabad. The outreach program was arranged and supervised by Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain (Head of Community Dentistry Department).
A team of 12 Dentists (Demonstrators at HBS Dental College) visited different schools namely Pak-Turk School, Muslim hands School of Excellence and Allama Iqbal School & College. A total of 1220 children were screened and were given Colgate kits.
Fluoride application was done for high-risk caries children and proper tooth brushing technique was demonstrated along with oral hygiene instructions. The Principal, HBS Dental College, Prof. Dr. Arshad Malik along with Dr. Kausar Mahmood, Head of Restorative Department and Dr. Benish Aleem, Head of Oral Pathology Department, personally evaluated the activities being carried out and participated in the Dental Health awareness programs.
