KARACHI-Pakistan Dental Community (PDC) in collaboration with Jimmy's Studio organized a hands-on workshop on Dental Photography for dental students and dentists. Highlighting the importance of the workshop, a press release of the PDA said that dental photography has become an important aspect of daily dental practice as part of patients’ diagnosis, treatment planning, lab communication and documentation of cases. The workshop, the release added, was designed to teach fundamentals of photography to students and dentists interested in gaining basic photography skills. Workshop was conducted by Jimmy Studios’ professional photographer, Syed JamshydMasudand Dr. Syed Muhammad Faizan at Vanguard School of Oral Implantology. The six-hourworkshop that began with a lecture, participants were apprised what type of camera they should use and functions of lenses. They were also taught basic features of a digital camera and its use. Photography's most basic elements like aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance were explained in detail to the participants. The second lecture delivered in the workshop, however, focused on application of varied features of lenses, aperture, shutter speed, etc. in dental photography for achieving excellent results. Later, the participants under the guidance of instructors carried on with the hands-on component of the workshop where they practiced how to take pictures of a patient. The workshop was well received and the PDC’s efforts in this regard were highly appreciated.-PR
