KARACHI: The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed its satisfaction at the measures taken at the Islamabad International Airport to detect monkeypox carriers among the passengers coming from abroad.
The team visited the airport to assess the measures taken to detect the monkeypox virus among passengers and check its possible outbreak.
The team headed by the WHO Country Director Dr Mahipala, assessed the measures taken to curb the monkeypox virus spread and also monitored the screening of people coming from abroad, besides visiting different lounges of the airport.
The airport manager briefed the WHO team about the steps taken to curb the monkeypox virus.
The team expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by the management of Islamabad Airport against the virus.
