KARACHI: A tooth sensitivity and gum health awareness session was recently organized by the Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Institute of Oral Health Sciences (DIKIOHS), Periodontology Department part, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).
This initiative, held in collaboration with Haleon Pakistan Limited, aimed to enhance community understanding of essential oral health issues.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Batool Bibi, Head of the Periodontology Department, who highlighted the widespread concerns related to tooth sensitivity and gum bleeding, stressing the need for preventive measures.
Mr. Faheem Bhatti, Senior Regional Detailing Manager at Haleon Pakistan Limited, presented on key products that support oral health, such as Sensodyne Rapid Action and Parodontax. His insights offered practical advice on managing tooth sensitivity and preventing gum disease.
Participants benefited from complimentary health assessments, including sensitivity tests using chilled stimuli, plaque evaluations, and bone mass density (BMD) tests to check calcium levels, providing a holistic view of their oral health.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Batool stressed the importance of gum disease prevention in maintaining optimal oral health.
The event concluded with a commemorative shield presented to Dr. Batool by Haleon Pakistan Limited in recognition of her contributions, while participants received e-certificates for their engagement.
