ISLAMABAD: With a view to provide free of cost healthcare facilities to people in a transparent manner, Caretaker Federal Minister for Health, Dr Nadeem Jan, unveiled the "Meera Sehat Card" mobile application on Wednesday.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister highlighted the role of the "Sehat Sahulat Programme" in digitizing the healthcare system and announced that the Sehat Card is now available for download on both the Android Play Store and Apple App Store.
Initially, the card is accessible to permanent resident families based on NADRA records from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Tharparkar of Sindh.
Dr Nadeem Jan mentioned that the government plans to make the Sehat Card accessible to all citizens of Pakistan in the near future.
Explaining the features of the application, the minister stated that it provides a comprehensive list of family members, enabling families to efficiently manage their healthcare needs. Additionally, the application maintains a digital record of an individual's medical treatment history, ensuring that medical caregivers have access to accurate information.
Dr Jan said the application will offer citizens a transparent list of available medical treatments. He further elaborated that the government has devised an integrated strategy to enhance healthcare facilities and reforms are actively being implemented to improve the overall health sector.
