TAXILA, RAWALPINDI: HITEC-IMS students, faculty, and members of the local community donated 85-90 blood units at a one-day blood donation camp recently organized in collaboration with the Thalassemia Welfare Society.
Organized by the Blood Donation Society of HITEC-IMS, the camp aimed to address the critical shortage of blood supply in hospitals while raising awareness about thalassemia and the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The blood donation camp featured a range of activities designed to engage and educate participants. These activities included donor registration, health screenings conducted by medical professionals, donation processing using sterile techniques and equipment, and provision of refreshments and rest areas.
During interactive sessions, the guests including Lt Gen Parvaiz, Maj Gen Qamar un Nisa, and Col Kamran shared valuable insights about the significance of blood donation and its life-saving impact.
The society members thanked all donors, volunteers, organizers, and partners who contributed to the success of this event.
