KARACHI - The Department of Operative Dentistry organized a presentation competition among students of third year currently posted in the department. The competition was supervised by HOD operative dentistry, Dr. Shama Asghar and Dr. Sara Ikram Khan.
The purpose of such competitions is to engage students in academic activities in which students learn to interact, communicate and acquire more knowledge of the subject.
The competition was judged by Dr. Tabassum Ahsan, HOD of Orthodontics and the occasion was graced by Principal Dental section, Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi. Welcome notes were delivered by Dr. Fasiha Kazi who welcomed all the attendees and explained the rules of the competition.
The students were divided into 6 groups and were given different topics to present. They were judged on their presentation skills, knowledge of the subject, time management and the content provided in the presentation.
All the students presented their best efforts but two students, namely Hassan Riaz and Bilal Mustafa, were awarded as winners of the competition. Certificates of participation were awarded to all the participants and winners by Dr. Kulsoom Fatima.
HOD Operative dentistry, Dr. Shama Asghar and faculty members; Dr. Alina, Dr. Fasiha, Dr. Adeel and Dr. Sara were applauded and praised for their continued efforts of organizing such activities in every rotation.
