BAGHLAN, Afghanistan: A woman recently gave birth to a baby in Baghlan province who has four natal teeth.
Abdul Qayum, the father of a baby girl born in a Baghlan Central Hospital, confirmed the news of his daughter having four natal teeth.
The news went viral on social media in Afghanistan and had astounded millions of people in the country.
Editorial: Natal teeth have been a medical term for those teeth present at the time of birth and are weaker than the natural teeth that started to appear at the age of six or seven months in babies. The incidence of natal teeth is approximately one to two or three thousand live births. It usually occurs in pairs. However, more than two natal teeth eruption has been considered rare.
