ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar stressed the need for healthcare sector reforms to meet global health expert standards.
Chairing a meeting of the task force on medical education and patient care reforms, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of healthcare reforms in the current scenario. He called for an enhancement in medical education standards in line with contemporary requirements.
Attendees were briefed on the strategy to elevate the healthcare sector to international standards. Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the significance of giving increased attention to improving the nursing sector.
The meeting also reviewed the steps taken in collaboration with the Health Ministry, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Higher Education Commission, and medical universities to enhance the healthcare sector.
A three-pronged strategy was presented for healthcare sector reforms aimed at aligning with international regulations. Attendees were informed about the reform strategy for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the healthcare sector.
Prime Minister Kakar commended the performance of the task force led by Special Assistant Dr. Amir Bilal in driving healthcare sector reforms.
