Faculty Development Workshop on Andragogy held at MMDC

MIRPURKHAS, SINDH: Mohammad Medical and Dental College (MMDC), Mirpurkhas, organized a Faculty Development Workshop on Andragogy under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad, Director of the Institute of Medical and Dental Education. The workshop, titled “Adult Learning Principles,” was a collaborative effort between the departments of Medical and Dental Education.
The interactive session was led by Prof. Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad and Dr. Kiran Fatima, focusing on adult learning theories and their application to transform teaching methodologies. Key principles such as self-directed learning and learner motivation were discussed, emphasizing the importance of understanding diverse learning styles to create effective educational experiences.The workshop saw active participation from notable faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Zafar H. Tanveer, Principal of Muhammad Medical College; Prof. Dr. Qadeer ul Hassan, Principal of Muhammad Dental College; and Prof. Dr. Farzana Majeed, Chief Accreditation Officer, along with senior and junior faculty members.
Participants engaged in brainstorming sessions, group activities, and discussions to identify optimal learning theories addressing real classroom challenges. The event concluded with group presentations, certificate distribution, and a feedback session to evaluate the workshop's impact. The workshop underscored the importance of incorporating adult learning principles into teaching strategies to enhance the quality of medical and dental education at MMDC.
