KARACHI: The Doctors` Association of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has greatly resisted the act of appointing Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) professor as the executive director of JPMC.
They said that the hospital was neither affiliated nor an administrative part of the JSMU, so JPMC's executive director must be a faculty member of the JPMC.
Dr Naeem Khan, President, Doctors' Association, JPMC, recently said that the provincial health secretary had sent a summary to the Chief Minister recommending the appointment of a JSMU professor as the head of JPMC.
The association thought that Dr Tariq Mahmood, Head of Radiology Department and currently acting Executive Director, JPMC, has been the most relevant person to permanently take charge of the hospital.
