PAO Conducts Treatment Planning Session

KARACHI: Pakistan Association of Orthodontists (PAO) recently organised Treatment Planning Session for postgraduate residents at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM). The hybrid event was attended nationwide by in-person and virtual participants, including renowned orthodontists and postgraduate trainees. Martin Dow sponsored the event.

 The event was hosted by Prof Dr Hasnaina Sakrani, Principal, AIDM and Vice-President, PAO. Prof Dr Ambreen Afzal, Dean, AIDM and Councillor, College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Prof  Dr Syed Shah Faisal, President, PAO and Dr Mahmood Shah, President, PDA were invited as speakers for the event. Prof Dr Rozina Nazir, General Secretary, PDA and Dr Erum Behroz Khan, Finance Secretary, PDA, were also present. Dr Ambreen Javaid, Resident Trainee, AIDM, moderated the event. 

 Residents of AIDM and Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) presented their complex cases of cleft lip and palate, impactions, midface deficiency and facial asymmetry. The attendees actively participated in the discussion and made the session productive.

 Prof. Ambreen Afzal lauded the organisers for a successful session and appreciated the efforts of the Orthodontists community for conducting continuing dental education events.

 Prof.  Dr Syed Shah Faisal announced that PAO would conduct such events regularly in future. He further announced that PAO would organise a national and international conference in November 2021. He also thanked seniors, colleagues and postgraduate residents for their participation and uplifting profession of Orthodontics in his address.
