RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) recently agreed to form composite teams comprised of all of its agencies to crack down on drug traffickers in educational institutions.
The decision was made during a meeting at the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) headquarters, presided over by Major General Ghulam Shabbir Narejo. During the meeting, the IATF secretary presented a performance report on drug seizures by various agencies for the year 2021.
Pakistan Coast Guards’ director general and other officials informed the meeting that these agencies gave no entry permit to anyone from the sea route.
The meeting also discussed the effects of methamphetamine, amphetamine/crystal and Ice on human health, focusing on youth and students, and decided to launch a crackdown against drug dealers targeting educational institutions by incorporating all IATF agencies.
It was also suggested that teams comprised of ANF, police, and ISI officials be formed to combat drug traffickers in educational institutions.
