KARACHI: The Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) Community Support Program (CSP) team visited the Army Public School 4 Dots Malir Cantt branch to conduct an oral health awareness and examination session.
Supervised by Dr. Maria Moin, Head of Community Dentistry, and Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, the CSP team included Senior Lecturer Dr. M. Mohsin Haider, and House Officers Dr. Syed Usman Bukhari, Dr. Izmah Farhan, and Dr. Maryam Ansari.
On its arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by the APS principal and staff. The session, targeting students from grades 5 to 8 (ages 6-12), involved a total of 250 students. Conducted in a large hall, students attended the oral examinations class by class.
Following the checkups, an oral health education session was led by the Colgate team. Engaging students through interactive videos and models, the session focused on oral hygiene practices, including proper tooth brushing techniques demonstrated on models. The students showed keen interest and responsiveness during the session.
Students diagnosed with dental issues were advised on necessary treatments, which were communicated to their parents through the school's teachers and headmistress.
As a gesture of appreciation, the school principal presented the doctors with acknowledgment shields and thanked them for enlightening the students on the value of the oral.
