Rawalpindi: A dental screening program was recently organized by the Community & Preventive Department, Margalla Institute of Health Sciences (MIHS). The dental team consisted of House officers and second year BDS undergraduate students who completed the dental checkups under the supervision of Dr Faiza Siddiqa, Dr.Hira Zafar, and Dr. Bushra Butt. The team headed by Dr Sadia Sajjad, Assistant Professor and Head of Community Dentistry Department, went to Army Public School in Askari 14.
The dental team screened 700 school children. Children were referred to Margalla Dental Hospital for further treatment. Oral health sessions were held in the school regarding tooth brushing techniques. The students were informed to have healthy diet as that will keep their mouth healthy. The importance of regular dental visits were inculcated in the children in a fun and engaging way.
The administration of school appreciated the efforts of the dental team.
