KARACHI: The Department of Community Dentistry, Baqai Dental College (BDC), Baqai Medical University organised awareness events regarding oral cancer prevention on “World Cancer Day”.
The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr Asghar Ali Shigri, Head of the Communitive Dentistry Department, BDC. Prof. Dr Asghar Ali Shigri has shown his true efforts regarding promoting oral health awareness since 2012. Every year, he plays an active role in celebrating world cancer day in Baqai Dental College and all five primary health care centres of Baqai Dental College.
The whole staff and students of the second year BDS students of BDC stood in a queue with six feet distance wearing masks, from Nishan e Manzil to Block A and held placards on which written the slogan regarding prevention of oral cancer.
Prof. Dr Talha, Vice Principal, BDC, joined the event and held placards for a while. He appreciated the efforts of the Community Dentistry Department for such a program.
Prof. Dr Asghar Ali Shigri thanked all the participants who joined for this noble cause. He also thanked the whole team, including Dr Samreen Shafqat, Dr Mahwish Bano and Dr Raza Abbas and non-teaching staff, including Mr Zahid Ali and Hussain Bux.
