Every year, Hamdard University Dental Hospital dedicates a day to spreading knowledge regarding good oral hygiene practices, amongst adults and children and to further demonstrate the importance of maintaining optimal oral health for overall well being.
This year’s oral health day was celebrated with the idea, ‘Why not show your Mouth a little appreciation in return.’
This event was organized and coordinated by the Department of Community Health and Preventive Dentistry, Dr. Wardah Ahmed and Dr. Rafey Ahmed Jameel.
The program began with hosting of Dr. Maryam Ali Khan, who highlighted the importance of this day followed by the recitation of Holy verses from the Quran, by a 2nd year student, Hafiz M. Umair.
Dr. .Nadeem Hafeez Khokhar shared his words of wisdom regarding oral health and its correlation with the body. Dr. Ashar Afaq, Vice Principal, Dow International Dental College, who shared his knowledge by delivering a highly informative lecture regarding the importance of oral health.
Honorable Chief Guest, Associate Professor, Institute Of Clinical Psychology at University Of Karachi, Vice-Chairman and Academic Director, Transformation International Society, Dr. Sobia Aftab spoke about the psychology of health care professionals, that grasped everyone’s attention.
The event was graced by the presence of HU Chancellor, Madam Sadia Rashid, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shabeebul Hassan and Mutwalliha Hamdard Foundation, Madam Fatima Muneer.
Winning positions of Inter-Departmental Table Competition were grabbed by Oral and Maxillo- Facial Department, Prosthodontic Department and Department of Endodontics, respectively. Table Clinics were judged based upon the creativity, presentation and over all skills.
