Israeli Gaza airstrikes leave over 200 dead overnight

KARACHI, PAKISTAN: In the besieged Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip, more than 200 people were reported dead following intense Israeli airstrikes overnight, as revealed by the health ministry.

The ministry stated that the death toll included Gaza City and the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Disregarding ceasefire appeals by UN aid agencies, Israel initiated what it termed as "significant" strikes, while its soldiers continued to engage with Hamas in the territory.

The mounting civilian casualties in the month-long conflict have been condemned by the UN aid agencies.

In response to the October 7 Hamas attacks, Israeli forces have escalated their offensive in Gaza, employing relentless airstrikes and deploying ground troops.

The Palestinian health ministry reported a total of 9,770 casualties, with approximately two-thirds comprising women and children.
