ISLAMABAD: The World Health Organization (WHO) has pledged to supply Pakistan with advanced medication for the treatment of monkeypox as a humanitarian gesture.
The commitment to provide the antiviral drug comes in response to Pakistan's official request for assistance from the global health entity.
According to the communication received from the WHO, Pakistan is set to receive 25 courses of the antiviral drug to effectively combat the spread of the monkeypox virus within the country.
Authorities have confirmed a total of seven reported cases of monkeypox in Pakistan thus far, prompting the urgent need for international assistance and specialised medication to address the growing public health concern.
