KARACHI - Department of Community Health and Preventive Dentistry (HUDH) organized “ORAL HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION” in The City School, Nursery, FB Area. Program supervisors Dr. Wardah Ahmed (Sr. Lecturer, Dept of CHPD) and Dr. S. Muzammil Ali (HOD, Dept of CHPD) said it’s a part of mega project called “Oral Health: Research and Practice”.
The goal of the project is to improve oral health status of the population. Dr.Wardah showed animated multimedia presentation to little students and conducted an interactive session highlighting the importance of personal and oral hygiene. She also accentuated that teachers have a mentoring role in maintenance of health status of the children.
The horizontal integration of the Hamdard Dental Hospital departments is the salient feature of this project, to view the oral health from all aspects of dentistry, said Dr. Wardah. The program was assisted by Dr. Syeda Farhat Bukhari from Department of Dental Materials and Dr. Nazish from Periodontology department. They provided their expert opinions to queries raised by school staff. School Head Madam Atiya Danish and coordinator Ms. Sarwat acknowledged the dental team and appreciated the efforts.
