KARACHI: The Continuous Dental Education Committee of Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry recently organized a workshop titled " Power Digital Impressions for Precision Dental Restorations."
Led by Prof. Dr. Uzma Zareef, Dr. Zara Mehreen, and Dr. Sumbul Shaikh, the hands-on session attracted house officers and faculty members.
Dr. Zara spoke about the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on oral visualization technology, underscoring the significance of intraoral scanners and 3D imaging for precise patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
The workshop manifested how digital impression techniques surpass conventional methods, offering patients immaculate, mess-free, and time-efficient experiences while relieving practitioners of stress.
Dr. Sumbul elaborated on the operational mechanisms and specific technologies employed in intraoral scanners, providing insights into maneuvering these devices within the oral cavity.
In a practical segment, Dr. Zara and Dr. Sumbul demonstrated digital impression-taking techniques, inviting participants to practice using intraoral scanners.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks from the CDEC chairperson, who awarded certificates and shields to Dr. Zara and Dr. Sumbul in recognition of their contributions.
