KARACHI: The Department of Dental Education & Research (DE&RD) of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine(AIDM) recently held a workshop titled "Developing OSCE/OSPE Stations" for the faculty development program.
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) or Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) objectively tests the clinical and practical knowledge and skills acquired during the medical curriculum.
AIDM's faculty development program has a mission of enhancing and improving its faculty teaching skills with a focus on assessment.
Dr Hudebia Allah Buksh, Head of Dental Education & Research Department, facilitated the workshop. All the faculty members attended it.
Following the series of workshops for enhancing assessment in dentistry, including "Constructing Single Best MCQs", this workshop aimed to train the faculty members regarding OSCE/OSPE station and included an extensive lecture, interactive discussions, and activities.
The participants were very enthusiastic and developed innovative OSCE/OSPE stations in the workshop exercise.
