KARACHI: An isolation unit dedicated to patients affected by Congo fever has been established at the Sindh Institute of Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Center on the orders of Sindh Health Minister Dr Saad Khalid Niaz.

The newly established Congo Virus Ward is equipped with eight beds.

Medical professionals and support staff within the ward remain on high alert, providing round-the-clock surveillance. Presently, no cases of Congo virus have been reported in Karachi.

In addition, the Sindh health department has issued comprehensive guidelines outlining preventive measures against the Congo virus.

Typically transmitted by animals, the Congo virus poses a serious health concern and demands heightened vigilance from the healthcare community.
