AUSTRALIA: Dr Mahmood Shah, President, Pakistan Dental Association (PDA), has recently been elected to the Public Health Committee of FDI World Dental Federation during FDI Virtual Dental Congress held in Sydney, Australia.
He has become the first Pakistani dentist to be elected for this post. Moreover, he has also been the President-Elect of the Asia Pacific Dental Federation (APDF). Dr Mahmood Shah was also elected again as Chairman of Oral Diseases Commission, APDF/APRO at APDF Elections held during 42nd Asia Pacific Dental Congress in Colombo, Srilanka.
The FDI Public Health Committee has to advise the council on the improvement of oral health and general health in disadvantaged communities and on broader health promotion. The committee also has to manage the World Dental Development Fund to further oral health development activities.
