Dubai – United Arab Emirates, 6 February, 2018: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, DHA, officially inaugurated today the 22nd UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai 2018, that is held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. AEEDC Dubai, the largest dental conference & exhibition in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia and the second largest in the world, is organized by INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions, member of INDEX Holding, a leading national company, in cooperation with a number of local and international organizations.
Following the opening ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid along with a number of VIP’s, dignitaries and senior officials in the industry, toured the exhibition area, and learned about the latest cutting-edge dental technologies and equipment, showcased by the leading local and international companies in the dental world.
Following his tour, His highness praised the remarkable development of the conference and exhibition and the increase in the interest of different countries in the event, in addition to the participation of local and international companies from all over the world. His Highness expressed his happiness with the great number of visitors that was evident from the beginning of the 1st day, which confirms the success of this edition, wishing everyone more success in the coming years.

The conference agenda includes more than 170 lectures delivered by 150 speakers covering various topics. On its first day, AEEDC Dubai features a number of scientific lectures that will focus on a number of topics including ‘Laser in Dentistry: Are Dental Diode Lasers Similar or Not? And Laser Biostimulation: Newer Paradigms in Regenerative Dentistry and Dental Traumatology among others. Meanwhile, Stomatologie Aujourd’hui, a dedicated dental session in French language, will run for 3 full days from the 6th to the 8th of February.In addition to the ‘Dental Education Session’ under the theme ‘Student Assessment: Theoretical Knowledge vs Clinical Competency’ will discuss the importance of student’s assessment and various tools required to measure their practical knowledge.
Moreover, AEEDC Dubai will feature the 9th AEEDC Student Dental Competition, that will commence with the elimination round on the first day of the conference. The face-to-face competition, will see students of 11 universities and colleges in the UAE and abroad, vying for the coveted “AEEDC Knowledge Champion” title, who will be quizzed on a host of topics in dentistry, including Four Handed Dentistry and Implantology.
Running parallel to the AEEDC Dubai 2018 conference, the exhibition covers 9 halls and include 16 country pavilions from Brazil, Italy, Germany, Turkey, China, Japan, South Korea, UAE, Finland, India, Switzerland, Pakistan, Spain, UK and the USA. The exhibition will be open for visitors and participants every day, from the 6th to 8th of February, 10 AM to 6 PM.
