KARACHI – The limited data available on oral health status shows a pattern of high oral disease, because of lack of timely prevention, scarcity of community oriented oral health programs and prompt treatment services. Community interest in oral health is important to halt this trend.
Bahria University Medical & Dental College (BUMDC) conducted a free dental camp at SRE SABIR in Karachi recently. Dentists of BUMDC including; Dr. Faizan Syed, Dr. Zahra Zeeshan, Dr. Raima Bashir and Isra Ahmed screened the residents for oral and dental problems. They were briefed about the importance of oral hygiene and were motivated for routine brushing and healthy dietary habits. Free oral health kits containing toothbrush and tooth pastes, sponsored by Colgate Pakistan, were distributed among the children & adults along with educational brochures and brushing charts to encourage oral hygiene practices. The program evoked good response from the residents.
Dr. Kulsoom Rizvi - Principal Dental Section of Bahria University Medical & Dental College & Head of Department of Community Dentistry, appreciated the efforts made by the team.
