LAHORE: The University College of Medicine and Dentistry (UCMD) at The University of Lahore (UOL) recently organized a seminar in collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), focusing on the evolving landscape of root canal obturation.
Attended by students and faculty members, the event emphasized sealer-based root canal filling techniques and explored the potential for joint scientific endeavors in dental sciences between TUMS and UCMD.
Dr Mohammad H Nekoofer, Director of International Relations at TUMS, discussed modern advancements in root canal filling methodologies. The seminar also featured a discussion led by distinguished panelists in the field of endodontics, including Prof Dr Fariha Naz, Dr Salman Ashraf Khan, Dr Saqib Qazi, and Dr Nabeel, fostering an engaging and informative exchange of ideas.
The event, coordinated by Prof Moghees A Baig, Dean UCMD & Principal University College of Dentistry (UCD), initiated discussions among the panelists regarding the merits and demerits of various obturating materials and proposed joint research efforts on the subject.
The seminar was attended by Chairman UOL, marking a continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed earlier by the Rector UOL, Prof Muhammad Ashraf.
The seminar underscores the commitment of both UCMD and TUMS to promote dental education and research, paving the way for a promising future of innovation and excellence in the field of dentistry.
