ISLAMABAD: In a move aimed at addressing financial concerns in medical education, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has banned private medical and dental colleges from collecting fees. The action follows a directive from the Senate’s Health Sub-Committee, which recommended a suspension of fee collection to curb financial irregularities.

The sources further told that over the past five years, these colleges have reportedly amassed fees exceeding Rs15 million from students, sparking concerns over affordability and equitable access to medical education.
