For years, Dentsply Sirona has promoted women in dentistry through a variety of successful strategies and programmes. Diversity, equity, and inclusion have also been prioritised in the company's "Beyond" sustainability strategy. Taking action to make the world a better place."
CHARLOTTE/ BENSHEIM: Dentsply Sirona has reaffirmed its commitment to creating cultural change and empowering women in dentistry on International Women's Day. Dentsply Sirona supports further actions in the dentistry sector to guarantee that women have the same chances as men while having their voices heard, their competence recognised, and their successes appreciated, in keeping with the day's 2022 theme, "Break the Bias."
“We are dedicated to driving long-term, cultural change to empower women within the company and throughout the industry,” says Erania Brackett, Chief Marketing Officer of Dentsply Sirona. “We have made this ambition a central element of our sustainability strategy ‘Beyond. Taking action for a brighter world’. I am immensely proud to be part of a company with a board in which 50 per cent of board members are women respectively members of ethnically diverse groups and where women chair 60 per cent of board committees.”
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are promoted through company-wide initiatives.
DS Women, an Employee Resource Group at Dentsply Sirona that aims to help female employees reach their full potential and guarantee that more women attain senior roles, lead practises, and take centre stage in the company, is one of the corporation's internal initiatives to promote women. Dentsply Sirona also holds training and awareness courses for all employees throughout the world on how to recognise and eliminate unconscious prejudice while also promoting diversity both inside and outside the workplace.
In addition to this, the company is a signatory to the Paradigm for Parity commitment. The pledge is part of broader efforts to give women and men equal power, status, and opportunity to achieve full gender parity by 2030. Dentsply Sirona is ahead of this pledge and aims to fulfil gender parity and gender pay parity by 2025.
“Driving cultural change from the inside is an incredibly important component of our sustainability strategy for equity and inclusion,” says Lisa Yankie, Chief Human Resources Officer of Dentsply Sirona. “From employees to students to dental professionals and technicians, we go beyond to fight against bias, stereotypes and discrimination.”
