KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry-College of Dentistry (LCMD-CoD) recently hosted a grand "Commencement, White Coat, and Oath-taking Ceremony," for its fresh students batch.
The event, hosted by Dr. Duaa Ali and Dr. Rizwan Hassan, commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Dr. Hassan Baig Ghazi. This was followed by the playing of the national anthems of Pakistan and Russia.
In his address, Principal Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi emphasized the institution's vision for the future, inspiring hope and determination among the audience.
The guests, including Prof Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, and Vice-Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, were the chief guests, while the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, and the Consulate General of Russia, Mr. Andrey Viktorovich Fedorov, were guests of honor, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in healthcare and education.
The Chairman, Amir Walliuddin Chishti, and Vice Chairman, Dr. Ali Farhan Razi, along with College of Medicine Principal Prof. Dr. Rashid Naseem, were also present.
Insights and experiences shared by distinguished alumni, Dr. Abeera Palus and Dr. Rabia Batool, provided invaluable guidance to the incoming batch. Several faculty members delivered speeches, offering insights and inspiration to the students.
On the occasion, mementos were presented to the chief guest, Prof Gondal, and the guests of honor, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi and Mr. Andrey Viktorovich Fedorov, along with their respective teams.
As a symbolic gesture denoting the start of their professional journey, each student was given a white coat.
At the oath-taking ceremony led by Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Naheed Najmi, the students reiterated the pledge to serve humanity with compassion, integrity, and excellence.
As the ceremony concluded, the students gathered for a group photo session. The event celebrated the achievements of LCMD-CoD students and reaffirmed the institution's commitment to excellence in dental education and healthcare.
