RAWALPINDI: Margalla Institute of Health Sciences warmly welcomed the freshmen of the 26th BDS batch, hosting a White Coat ceremony for them.
The institute bestowed white coats upon the students as a gesture of mentorship, symbolizing the commencement of their professional journey and the accompanying responsibilities.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat. Later, the national anthem was played.
Vice Chief Proctor Dr. Seemi Tanveer delivered a brief address stressing the importance of discipline within the institute.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Mehmood, Principal and Dean of MCD, addressed the students, expressing his optimism that the fresh batch would be an exemplary addition to the health community.
He emphasized their role in serving humanity and contributing to society for its betterment. Subsequently, an oath was administered to students, as a reminder of the ethical and moral principles essential to the learning and practice of dentistry.
In the closing remarks, Class Coordinator Dr. Irum Rehman wished the students success in their journey ahead. She also highlighted the challenges they would face, which would mold them into proficient dental practitioners. She encouraged them to embrace every opportunity for learning, growth, and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
The event was attended by MCD Dean Prof Dr Sohail Ahmad, Vice Principal Prof Dr. Shakir Khan, Vice Principal ICP Associate Prof. Adil, senior faculty members, and parents of the students.
The ceremony, marking the start of the students' careers as healthcare professionals, underscored the importance of professionalism, ethics, and compassion in the practice of dentistry.
The event concluded with a tea break and refreshments for the new students' families and friends.
