QUETTA-World oral health day is commemorated annually on 20 March in order to support the improvement of oral health worldwide. The aim is to provide an occasion for global, regional and national activities related to oral health.
The theme of world oral health day 2015 is "smile for life"
Balochistan comprises of 44%of total land in Pakistan but still it has only one dental college with an induction strength of just 32 students per year, so the Head of Dental Department BMCH Professor Rauf Shah felt dire need to celebrate the day on a bigger scale in order to generate awareness among the people about importance of oral health.
A walk and free dental camp were held in this regard in BMCH. The chief guest of the occasion was MPA Dr Shama Ishaq Baloch. Free medicines, toothpastes, Mouthwashes and brushes were distributed to deserving people.
More efforts should be made to remind people everywhere about importance of looking after their teeth and gums. -PR
